In Calcutta every day is a festival, whether it is festival time or not. There are few places in the world which feature such a colorful contrast of people, places and poetry. As the West Bengali capital and once the capital of British India, Calcutta conjures up images of colonial grandeur alongside the squalor of the slums. There are some wonderful shopping malls, after all Bengalis are renowned for their inimitable fashion sense, as well as a whole host of markets and bazaars which are bustling with the vibrancy which reverberates throughout the whole metropolis.
